How It Started

Unfolding The World started with a simple idea: the world is fascinating, but too often it's explained in ways that make people stop paying attention.

We want to change that...

The Problem

I started this project when I was 16 because I kept hearing the same thing:

"Politics is boring."

"History is boring."

"I don't understand what's going on in the world."

The more I thought about it, the more I realised that the problem wasn't a lack of interest.

The problem was that nobody was explaining these topics in a way that felt accessible, relevant, and engaging for young people.

Unfolding The World was created to change that.

Why do so many young people say they don't care about politics, history, or world events?

Maybe the problem isn't that they're not interested. Maybe it's the way these topics are explained.

What Makes This Different?

No Textbook Language
Student Voices
Different Perspectives
More Than Just Articles

Most people our age are told they should care about politics, history, economics, and global issues.

The problem is that these topics are often explained in ways that make people stop caring.

We're trying something different.
