We come from different countries, speak different languages, and have different experiences — but we're all working toward the same goal: helping young people understand the world around them.

Founder and Director : Lucía Lobato
My name is Lucia Lobato, I’m 16 years old and I’m from Seville, Spain. I come from a completely ordinary background, having grown up in the same neighbourhood that I still call home today. More than anything else, that has shaped the way I see the world: it has taught me that curiosity, ambition, and a global mindset don't depend on where you come from.
I am currently studying Humanities in high school and hope to continue my education in International Relations and Political Science. I am fluent in both Spanish and English, and I have always been fascinated by the events, decisions, and ideas that shape societies around the world. Outside school, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and constantly exploring new topics that help me better understand the world we live in.
One thing that has always struck me is how easily people accept ideas without questioning them, relying on headlines, social media, or political narratives instead of genuine understanding. That realization shaped my outlook from an early age: I never want to be indifferent to the world around me, and I believe curiosity and critical thinking are among the most valuable qualities anyone can develop.
That belief inspired me to found Unfolding The World. My goal is to make politics, international affairs, history, economics, and culture accessible to young people by explaining complex issues in a way that is clear, engaging, and easy to understand. I hope that, over time, this magazine becomes a platform that young people around the world naturally turn to when they want to understand what's happening beyond the headlines.
More than anything, I want this project to encourage people to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and discover that understanding the world is something everyone is capable of. I believe that the world only becomes less complicated when we take the time to understand it.

My name is Zhansaya, I am 15 years old and I am from Kazakhstan. In this project, I work as a researcher. I gather, verify, and analyze information to make sure all our materials are fact-based. I truly enjoy doing this work.
Currently, I am a high school student. In the future, I plan to major in International Relations. I am fascinated by how the world works, how countries interact with one another, and how global issues are resolved.
I decided to join this project because many of my peers think that politics and global problems have nothing to do with them or are too complicated. However, this project explains everything in simple words. I want to help my peers realize that global processes are closer to us than they think, and I am excited to contribute to this meaningful cause.

My name is Doan My Phuong Minh, I am 15 years old and I am from Hanoi, Vietnam. I am currently a high school student at The International School of ParkCity Hanoi. Outside of school, I serve as Community & Membership Lead at GYBN Vietnam and actively participate in youth-led sustainability and environmental initiatives.

My name is Darin Hany , I am 15 years old, and I am proudly Egyptian, although I have been living in Germany for the past two and a half years. I am currently a student and hope to study law in the future, as I have always been passionate about justice and creating positive change.
Over the past few years, I have been actively involved in youth councils, organisations, internships, and other initiatives that have strengthened my interest in politics, civic engagement, and social impact. In this project, I am part of the Social Media team, where I contribute by using my passion for writing, communication, and asking questions to make important topics more accessible to young people.

My name is Tomás Rivera, I am 17 years old, and I come from Bogotá, Colombia. Growing up in a country marked by profound political, economic, and social transformations has taught me that understanding the world requires looking beyond appearances and questioning the forces that shape it.
I am currently studying Finance and International Relations at Universidad Externado de Colombia. My academic interests lie at the intersection of economics, geopolitics and public affairs around the globe What has always fascinated me is that every headline is merely the visible surface of a much deeper story.

My name is Ingyin Thu or Alyssa works just fine. I am a 17 year old Burmese student, currently studying my final year of A levels in Varee Chiang Mai International school in Thailand. In the future, I plan to study political science, work my way up to law school and eventually pursue a career path in law.
One of the reasons I have joined UTW as a writer is because I want the world to know about Myanmar and address our current issues, one article at a time. Moreover, change the way teenagers feel about politics in general. My writings will concentrate on Myanmar and it will contain personal experiences there and use first hand resources as contents, making it very dear to me. In my view, these fields play a crucial role in developing critical thinking and informed citizenship. My name is Samantha Palmer and I am the lead of interviews for unfolding the world I am currently seventeen and from Yorkshire in the United Kingdom. I’m currently studying A level Geography, Government and politics as well as Design Technology.
I initially joined unfolding the world as I wanted to join a community that values unity in addition to integrity. I felt that my own personal values directly correlated with everyone else with in the organisation.
