FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

Lucía Lobato

I’m from Andalusia, Spain, and started Unfolding the World at 16, driven by my curiosity about politics and global affairs.

I work across the project, from writing and editing to managing the website, creating content, and conducting interviews. I love sleeping, but apparently I love politics a little more—especially when it means staying up late watching the news.

Zhansaya Sapargalieva

I’m 15 and from Kazakhstan, and I work as a researcher at Unfolding the World. I gather, verify, and analyze information to make sure our content is accurate and fact-based.

I’m passionate about International Relations and understanding how countries and global issues connect. I joined because I want to help make global affairs simpler and more accessible to young people.

Lily Mae Begley

I’m 22 and from Norwich, UK, and I write for the International Relations section at Unfolding the World. I’m currently studying International Relations, with a particular interest in humanitarian issues, international law, and global politics.

I joined because I believe global affairs should be accessible and engaging for everyone, especially young people. I’m excited to help make complex topics clearer and easier to understand.

I’m 15 and from Russia, and I write and translate content for Unfolding the World. I’m passionate about foreign languages, international relations, and discovering different cultures.

I joined because I wanted to be part of a meaningful project that makes global affairs more accessible to young people. I believe that even small contributions can make a difference.

I’m 17, Burmese, currently studying in Thailand, and I write for Unfolding the World, focusing mainly on Myanmar. I want to share its stories and current issues while helping young people see politics in a different way.

I’m especially interested in political science, law, history, and volunteering. Outside of that, I enjoy interior design, arts and crafts, and 2000s rom-coms.

I’m 20 and from Slovakia, currently studying International Relations and English Language and Literature. I’m passionate about politics, international affairs, art, literature, and writing.

I joined Unfolding the World because I believe the humanities and social sciences are essential for developing critical thinking and informed citizens. I hope to help make these subjects more valued and accessible to young people.

I’m 18 and from Madrid, Spain, studying History and Politics at university. I’ve always been passionate about history and politics, and I work as a researcher for the History section.

I joined Unfolding the World because I believe young people deserve access to reliable knowledge and the tools to think critically. I want to help make history more accessible while encouraging people to question what they see and hear.

I’m 15 and from the United States, and I write for the Geopolitics section at Unfolding the World. I’m interested in politics, government, and law, with plans to study International or Human Rights Law.

I joined to deepen my understanding of geopolitics while helping make global issues simpler and more accessible. I want young people to better understand what’s happening in the world around them.

I’m 19 and from Spain, and I write for the International Relations section at Unfolding the World. I’m studying International Relations, with a particular interest in geopolitics, history, and diplomacy.

I joined because I believe young people should have access to clear and objective information about how the world works. I hope to use what I’ve learned to make a real impact and encourage curiosity about global affairs.

My name is Emilio Padrón, I am 14 years old, and I am from Mexico. I am currently a middle school student with a strong interest in history, geopolitics, geography, physics, and sociopolitics.

In this project, I wanted the opportunity to share my ideas about topics that truly matter and help others better understand these important global issues.

I’m 17 and from North Cyprus, and I’m passionate about politics and understanding how it shapes our everyday lives. I joined Unfolding the World because I believe informed young people can make a meaningful difference.

I’m also excited to connect with people from different backgrounds, exchange ideas, and learn from their experiences. Outside of politics, I enjoy poetry, photography, books, cinema, and Pilates.

I’m 16 and from Budapest, Hungary, and I write for the Global Conflicts section at Unfolding the World. I’m interested in international relations, politics, and economics, and I’m about to begin the IB programme.

I joined because I believe global conflicts should be easier for everyone to understand. I hope my work encourages young people to stay informed and curious about the world.

I’m 17 and from Italy and Germany, and I write for the Sociology section at Unfolding the World. I’m passionate about making education more accessible and enjoy exploring different topics through writing.

I joined because I wanted to develop my writing while contributing to a project with a meaningful purpose. Outside of that, I enjoy playing piano, reading, swimming, and spending time with friends.

I’m 15 and currently in my final year of middle school, where I write as an Opinion Columnist for Unfolding the World. I’m especially interested in philosophy and the social sciences.

I joined to strengthen my intellectual perspective while developing my writing and analytical skills. I hope to explore social issues through different perspectives and encourage thoughtful discussion.

I’m 17 and from the Netherlands, and I write for the Sociology section at Unfolding the World. I’ve just finished high school and will soon begin studying Global Law at Tilburg University.

I joined because the project immediately caught my interest and I wanted to contribute to making global topics more accessible. Outside of that, I enjoy spending time with friends, horse riding, skiing, and, of course, eating.

My name is Laura Juhász, I’m 16 years old and I’m from Hungary. My role in Unfolding the world is opinion columnist and translator.

In my personal life I’m still a high school student. I joined this project because I want to give people a chance to understand how the world works, bring them closer to seeing the bigger picture and make deliberate, conscious decisions.

I’m 16 and from Málaga, Spain, and I write history content for Unfolding the World. I’m passionate about history, art history, and literature, and I’m currently studying in high school.

I joined because I’m concerned about the impact of misinformation on my generation and the way it shapes our views on politics. I hope to contribute to making reliable knowledge more accessible to young people.

I’m 19 and from Jakarta, Indonesia, currently taking a gap year before continuing my studies. I’m part of the Social Media Team, combining my creative and organizational skills with my interest in International Relations and geopolitics.

I joined to grow my network, gain experience, and connect with people from different backgrounds. My goal is to become a diplomat, and I see this project as a great step towards it.
